All pupils from pre-prep to alpha had an hour (in small groups during the day) with the wonderful Noah Messomo playing African drums from Cameroon, and singing along to their own rhythmic accompaniment.
They learnt about the different pitches and resonances that the drums can produce and they each played the three types of drums that Noah had brought along. The colourful African scarves added to the little performance that they gave to a good crowd of pre-prep parents in the afternoon. We have all learnt more about an African culture and reinforced our experience of communication through music and sound.
Grateful thanks to the Friends of Knighton House who paid for this visit (Noah last came four years ago): we all had a huge amount of fun!
