Six years ago we bought two Skye Hebrideans, they are a sub-sect of Hebrideans with silver fleeces and white tear- drop markings under their eyes. They have long ‘skirts’ to their thick fleeces, which may be one reason we didn’t notice anything…. also, in five years of lambing neither of them have ever produced lambs. We kept them both because they are so friendly and this morning there she was with twins. Perhaps I imagined it, but I fancy she looked quite surprised as well as proud.
Have a sing-along to the Skye Boat Song. It is about Bonnie Prince Charlie escaping to the Isle of Skye after the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
