Lockdown ’emergency’ bread – a recipe for when you would like bread but all you have is self raising flour and about an hour. The bread is very nice with butter and jam but not for making sandwiches!
2 cups self raising flour to 1 cup water
1 pinch of salt
Mix the flour and salt in a large bowl
Add the water slowly, mixing to form a soft dough
Kneed the dough for about 3 mins on a floured surface (it will be sticky!)
Bake on a floured baking tray in the oven at 220 C for about 40mins
Best eaten on the day of cooking!
